On Saturday night, March 5th, 2011, coaches, parents, and family
members
were able to celebrate the life of late coach Armando Maini by playing
in the 2nd annual Armando Maini Memorial Tournament. There were
forty two players making up 4 teams, playing 3 round robin pool games
each.
The final pitted Oceanside Green Hornets against the undefeated Oceanside United Black. After regulation the score was knotted at nil-nil. In the golden goal extra period, the Green Hornets were able to knock one by the goal keeper of Oceanside United Black. Cheers broke out at Mance Buchanon Park as hundreds of Breaker family members looked on.
It is a small way we can honor the life of former coach Armando Maini.
Armando's wife Stephanie and children Luca, Matteo, & Rebecca were there to watch the festivities. They still remain part of the Breaker family.
We hope to see many more Breaker families and players out there next Spring.
