This summer, Sugar Rush, the 2013 Girls Spring Division 5 Champions, received the Mayor's Youth Award presented by Mayor Jim Wood and the Oceanside City Council.
These girls received the honorable recognition at a City Council meeting broadcasted live on local television.
Sugar Rush had a great season finishing with a 7-0-1 record. The end of season tournament proved to be a tough test though as the team was handed their first loss of the season along with a tie. The team played two tough games in the quarterfinals and semifinals that both ended in ties leading to penalty kicks. The team then emerged from the final game with a 2-0 victory and a well deserved Championship!
